Taking Stock

November 10th, 2009

I just finished an hour and a half photo shoot for the Citizen Stock project, a 2009 portrait library of 1,000 ‘real people.’ The project is a collaboration between photographers Sherrie Nickol and David Katzenstein, shot at their studio in Noho. They’ll be marketing the collection with the goal of licensing portraits for commercial use (web, ads, brochures, etc.). I’m excited to see the results in a couple of months on their website! I’m thrilled to meet my Girls Write Now mentee tomorrow. I was officially accepted as a mentor last week (hurrah!) and attended the GWN soiree, where we wrote letters to friends and family in support of the organization. Michelle Obama recently presented Girls Write Now with the prestigious “Coming Up Taller” award, and we watched a touching video about the award acceptance, which you can view on their website:

Another piece of good news: I finished an article on Istria (“Truffles and Oysters and Wine, Oh My!) for New York Resident magazine. It’s scheduled to be published on December 8, so look for it next month: New York Resident
